Why can't I say Merry Christmas?

I have always loved Christmas. Although I feel it has become a very commercialized holiday (and I am an offender as well), I still love Christmas. I know we should remember why we celebrate Christmas - it is to remember the birth of Christ. Personally, I don't know that Christ was born on December 25; however, that is the date that has been set aside to remember His birth. It is very sad to me that over the past several years, people who do not believe in God have "taken over" the Christmas holiday and basically don't want people to make any mention of Christ. One of my cousins was in the "holiday show" at her school and they weren't allowed to sing any "Christmas" songs that mentioned Christ...only songs like Sleigh Ride, Let It Snow, etc. I wanted to stand up at the end of the show and sing O Holy Night, but of course, I didn't. I've noticed that when you go in some stores at Christmas, they will say "Happy Holidays" and I will respond with "thank you, and Merry Christmas." I am most times smiled at and told "Merry Christmas to you too."

I have friends who are Jewish and I respect their right to believe what they believe; however, I am a Christian and just ask that I be respected as well.

Christmas is what it is.....the day to remember the birth of Christ. If you don't want to celebrate it....don't celebrate it......but don't tell me how to celebrate it either.

Merry CHRISTmas everyone!

Who is Ted Kaufman?

Well, just when I thought that my home state of Delaware was rid of Joe Biden as U.S. Senator, one of his cronies is appointed to fill Biden’s Senate seat until a “special election” in 2010. Governor Ruth Ann Minner (who I still can’t figure out how she got elected to begin with) appointed Kaufman yesterday (11/24). I think it caught a lot of people off guard, especially John Carney who was the “favored” choice after Biden’s son, Attorney General Beau Biden, said he would refuse the job if selected so he could carry out his duties in the National Guard in Iraq (which I respect).

When Minner made her announcement, she proudly announced that “his political views are very close to Biden’s.” Also, Kaufman said his views closely match Biden’s and that Biden encouraged him to accept the position if asked. Kaufman said that he “couldn't think of anything he and Biden disagreed on and he was impressed by that even back in 1972 when Biden was first running for office.” “I was struck by how many things he believed that I also believed,” he said. That was all I needed to know. I have disagreed with Biden on virtually every issue since I moved to Delaware and was inflicted with him as our senator. There have been more instances than I can count that I either wrote or called Biden’s office over particular issues and his view was totally opposite mine (surprising, huh?)

Kaufman evidently has been a senior advisor to Biden during his presidential campaign and then during his vice presidential campaign. He also is member on an Obama Biden transition project advisory board. Kaufman “appears” to have no expectations of running for the office in an upcoming election. Many view this appointment by Minner is simply “holding the spot” for Biden’s son, Beau, when he returns from military service so that he will be able to fill the spot held by his father since 1972.

I think I need to study Delaware’s political policies a little bit more, but I just can’t understand why we have to wait until 2010 for a special election for an office such as U.S. Senator. Although Delaware has been a democratic voting state for as long as I can remember, and it is more than likely that a democrat will win in a special election, I still would like to have a voice in deciding who will serve. I can totally understand how there needs to be a “short” interim replacement, but why is the interim so long? This just proves once again the “boy’s club politics” in Delaware of politicians looking out for each other (rather than the state). Oh well…..

Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays of the year. It's a time to reflect on all of our many blessings. I realize that we should be thankful every day of the year (and I hope I am), but for me, Thanksgiving has always been a very special day with family and loved ones. To name just a few of God's blessings and the things I am thankful for:

  • I am thankful for a loving husband and family.
  • I am thankful that I can worship as I please in a church that I love very much.
  • I am thankful for my pastor who has been a blessing to all who know him
  • I am thankful for the country I live in where we are free to express our beliefs and values
  • I am thankful that I have been blessed with friends who I can turn to at any time.
  • I am thankful that I have a job, a home and food on the table.
  • I am thankful that I am healthy (so far).
  • I am thankful for our service men and women fighting for our country.
  • Most of all, I am thankful for a merciful God who has seen fit to provide all these blessings and too many more to mention.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Obamunism

This is a new word that I heard this week and I thought it was very appropriate for our new “President Elect” (I still choke on the words). Although I certainly know what “communism” is, I still looked it up to get a good definition to see if the coining of the phrase “Obamunism” was appropriate (as if I didn't know already).

Here is a brief descripton of communism (Obamunism):

  • They feel that many problems in our society are due to the unequal distribution of wealth
  • They believe that to bring about happiness and prosperity for all, the distinctions between the rich and poor of society must be eliminated.
  • They claim that since the rich will never give up their goods or status voluntarily, a rebellion of the poor is necessary.
  • If capitalism is defined as a social system based on individual rights (and individual wealth), then communism is its direct opposite.
  • Communism embraces atheism and dismisses religion as “the opiate of the masses,” a system designed by the rich and powerful to keep the poor in their place.

These were just a few of the “definitions” I found – I think we would all agree that Obamunism is an appropriate term. Let’s see if they can add it to Webster’s!

This is what our country asked for on 11/4/08 (WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!)

The Fairness Doctrine (Translation....The Censorship Doctrine)

Watch out! The new Democratic administration including Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and other liberals are going to try to revive the so-called Fairness Doctrine. In reality, it is an attempt to silence conservative talk radio. They would like nothing better than to silence the likes of Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham and other conservatives who oppose their liberal agenda. As if the liberal media hasn't tried to dominate enough during the 2008 presidential election, the "Unfairness" Doctrine would essentially give them total control of the media (scary thought, isn't it?) So we would have the "pleasure" of listening to the likes of Katie Couric, Charles Gibson, Harry Smith, Chris Matthews but would no longer have a voice with their conservative counterparts.

In my mind, this would infringe on our freedom of speech. Of course, the liberals would obviously like to re-write the Constitution, but I for one think it's just fine the way it is. We can't just sit idly by and watch this happen. I was listening to Sean Hannity yesterday (surprising huh?) and heard about the Media Research Center (mrc.org). There is a link there were you can sign a petition against this outrage and can (if you want) keep updated on the progress. Here is the link to the petition if you would like to sign it: http://www.mrcaction.org/517/petition.asp?PID=18645182. Also, go to http://mrc.org/ to learn more about other media bias.

Let's not let them get away with this!

And the people mourn...

Proverbs 29:2 says: "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn." So.....I'm wearing black today....in mourning for this country. I tried to prepare myself for the bad news this morning, but when I actually heard the news report and heard the words "President Elect Obama", my heart sunk and my stomach turned.

So, my husband and I tried to think of anything positive about the outcome of the presidential election and we did come up with a few things.

1. Living in Delaware and putting up with 36 years as Joe Biden as our Senator, we are finally rid of him (I know.....at the country's expense, but still I'm just trying to think of something positive).
2. For the first time in 8 years, I will get to complain about the president and blame everything bad that happens on him (as the liberals did for President Bush the past 8 years).
3. There will no doubt be LOTS of material for Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and other conservative talk show hosts.
4. Tina Fey will have to get another job.
5. I have to believe some good jokes will come out of this administration - Joe Biden alone can provide loads of material.
6. Therefore, there will have to be lots of things to update on my blog.
7. Most importantly, no matter what, the Lord is in control - that's a comfort in itself.

We should continue to pray for the nation - it will need it more than ever now!

What's Most Important

As the election is closing in on us and is less than 2 days away, I was reminded today what is most important. I have been very obsessed with all the many different issues and most recently, with Obama's "Share the Wealth" platform that he has been preaching in recent days. I still am against that principle and get very upset about the prospect of Obama being the leader of this great land. But, today at my church I had with me a list of issues and both candidates stance on these issues. Of course, I agreed wholeheartedly with John McCain and disagreed adamantly with Barack Obama. But as I discussed this list with a very dear young man at church, he said to me, "what is really most important is which one of these candidates is following God's way." He said that we should be voting for the one who stands up for what is right in God's eyes, and he is SO right. It reminded me of one of my favorite Bible verses in II Chronicles 7:14: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. So, tomorrow evening at 7:00 p.m., my church is assembling together for the sole purpose of praying for God's grace, mercies and wisdom in the upcoming election. May He hear our prayers.

Christian Voter's Guide

I have said many times that this is probably the most important presidential election of all time. Please take a minute to take a look at the Christian Voter's guide link below to see where the candidates stand on issues important to Christians. Christians must vote for candidates that uphold God's standards and principles. We must not only pray for godly leaders, it is our responsibility to vote for godly leaders.

Where will it end?

What happened to working to earn a living? The Bible says For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. It is unfortunate that many in this country are what I call the "give me" crowd. I was listening to Sean Hannity on the radio yesterday and he had what he calls the "Man on the street Thursday." It's where they stop people on the streets of NY and interview them asking some very simple questions. Usually, I laugh at some of the interviewees because some of their answers are so comical. But yesterday, it was so bad it was depressing. For example, Sean asked one gentleman if he knew who was running for president and the man correctly answered who was running for president and who their respective running mates were (which many times, the people they stop don't even know who the current vice president is). Then, Sean asked him if he knew who he was voting for, and of course, the man responded with OBAMA. Sean then asked the man a series of questions to which he answered yes to all, and it was very sad. Most of the questions were about the government taking care of you. For example:

Do you think the government should provide health care for everyone? Do you think the government should take from the rich and give to the poor? Should the government give you a house if you can't afford one? Should the government provide you with a car so that you can get around? Should the government provide day care for your children? There were actually 2 "man on the street" men yesterday on Sean's show that answered yes to all of these questions. How sad. This is truly welfare on steriods!

I can't believe that people just think that the government should give them everything. Where do they think the money will come from for all these "programs"? Who is going to pay for this? Do they really want the government to be in charge of their health care? Do they want the government choosing their doctor and their care. Do you want the government in charge of taking care of your children? This is the same government that has bankrupted social security and has ruined the school system.

What ever happened to working to take care of your own family? I have worked for years and have paid dearly for health care so that I have the right to choose my doctor and choose my care - I don't want the government doing this for me. I don't want the Barack Obamas and Nancy Pelosis in this world deciding on my health care or any other part of my life. I especially don't want them in charge of my checkbook (which they seem bound and determined to do).

The liberal democrats have freely admitted that they want to raise your taxes. John McCain believes we must keep taxes low and to reward hard work. He believes that the government's wasteful spending should be eliminated. He believes that raising taxes is never a good idea. I believe as John McCain does - that's why I will be voting for him on November 4.

I have worked all my life for the little bit I have (and wouldn't have it any other way) - I just want everyone else to do the same.

Who Said This??

"From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs."

I bet you thought it was Barack Obama who said this, didn't you? It sounds like his platform - he wants to take from the rich and give to the poor. Well.....the above quote is from Karl Marx. Surprised? Well, you shouldn't be.

If Barack Obama and the liberal democrats in our "do nothing" Congress have their say, they will have a trillion dollars in new spending (translation....waste). They will give YOUR hard earned money to those who don't even pay taxes. Their definition of "rich" is changing by the day. First Obama said...those making over $300,000 a year; then it was $250,000, then $200,000. The last I heard was Joe Biden saying $150,000. Where will it end?

Obama has voted twice to increase the taxes on those making over $42,000 a year. So, you see, no one is safe. Don't you just love it when people like Obama want to decide who "deserves" YOUR money? This from a man who is a millionaire whose grandmother still lives in the same small apartment he was born in and an aunt who lives in a slum in Boston. As a friend of mine said, he certainly doesn't believe in sharing HIS wealth with his own family does he?

So, back to the original quote at the beginning of this post: "From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs." Sound familiar? May God have mercy on this country during the upcoming election.

Telling the truth about Obama

I am not normally one who tries to get people to donate money to political organizations; however, in this time where the most important election in history is just days away, I feel compelled to do so. Barack Obama is a very radical liberal with many questionable affiliations. The McCain camp is not capitalizing on Obama's alliances with people like Jeremiah Wright. To be very blunt about it, I think McCain is being a little too nice about it. The American people need to know about what they are in for in the next 4 years if (God forbid) this man Obama is elected President.

Take a look at the following link to see the ads sponsored by the National Republican Trust. I learned about this organization on Fox News from Dick Morris (former political advisor for the Clintons who saw the light of day and is now fully supportive of McCain). After seeing the ads on this site, if you feel so inclined to donate to this organization, I personally feel it is money well spent - every little bit helps.

Are you joking Joe?

It seems that Joe Biden and the Obama camp are not used to taking the tough questions. This is a whole new experience for them. They are so accustomed to having the mainstream media in their back pocket that it was totally horrifying to them when Florida's WFTV-Channel 9 anchorwoman Barbara West asked some tough questions.

When Barbara asked Biden about Obama's "spread the wealth" comments, and when she compared Obama's comments to socialist Karl Marx, Biden's response was "Are you joking? Is this a joke? Is this a real question?”. YES JOE, it is a real question, and NO JOE, this is not a joke As a matter of fact, it is very serious because if Obama is elected, a free America as we know it will be history.

But Barbara didn't stop.....she then asked Biden about his recent comment that Obama could be tested early on as president. She asked if the senator was saying America’s days as the world’s leading power were over. Biden's response.....“I don’t know who’s writing your questions." Well...guess what Joey, lots of people would like to know the answer to these questions, including me. You and Obama want to become the next leaders of this great nation and you should be able to answer these questions and be held accountable for your socialist agenda.

So, what was the Obama camp's response to the interview? They cancelled Biden's wife, Jill's, appearance on the station and responded with this:

“This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election,” wrote Laura K. McGinnis, Central Florida communications director for the Obama campaign. McGinnis said the Jill Biden cancellation was “a result of her husband’s experience yesterday during the satellite interview with Barbara West.”

“Mr. Biden didn't like the questions,” said WFTV news director Bob Jordan. “We choose not to ask softball questions.”

So, I guess the only ones that are supposed to get the tough questions are the McCain camp? I'm sure the mainstream media will not report on this, but it just fascinates me that when someone questions the democratic candidate's actions, they respond with such indignation. Could it be that they are afraid if the word gets out, they may lose this election? One could only hope.

Joe Biden - a heartbeat away from the presidency??

I live in Delaware and have suffered the plague of Joe Biden for many, many years. Since he is the so-called US Senator in Delaware, I have called and e-mailed his office multiple times over the years expressing my opinions about various issues. SHOCKER - he never agreed with me! And guess what......he still doesn't! He has been such an embarrassment to the State of Delaware (and I might add...to the US Senate) over the years, it boggles my mind that he was re-elected so many times (without my vote, of course). I periodically look at the "Biden Gaffe Meter" they have posted on the RNC.ORG (Republican National Committee) and I can remember so many times he said such dumb things. One of my personal favorites was the time he was making comments about people from India, and I quote “In Delaware, the largest growth of population is Indian Americans, moving from India. You cannot go to a 7/11 or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking.” And now......this is a man a heartbeat away from the presidency if (God forbid) Barack Obama is elected? And they have the gall to make jokes about Sarah Palin? What a bright, gracious and eloquent lady. That's another whole post to speak about her and her experience compared to Barack Obama - or should I say the LACK of experience of Barack Obama.

The other amazing thing about Biden is that it wasn't so long ago, he said that "the Presidency is no place for on-the-job training." Guess who he was talking about? You got it.....Barack Obama. Another one of Biden's "shining moments" was when he said that Barack Obama was the "first bright and clean" African American running for president. What??? Well....that's our Joey.

Biden is also the one who said it would be the "patriotic thing" to do to pay more taxes - SINCE WHEN? Why would I want the government to waste even MORE of my money. They certainly haven't done very well so far, have they!

Well, enough of Joe Biden - it would take too many pages. I have jokingly said before that the only thing that I can think of that would be a good thing if Barack Obama was elected (God forbid), would be that Delaware would finally be rid of Joe Biden...but guess what? He's grooming his son, Beau - he's the "inexperienced" Attorney General in Delaware who won the election for that office with virtually no experience against a candidate with a wealth of experience - it was such a no-brainer. But.....Delaware voters just can't seem to get it right. I was shocked when he won (I shouldn't have been surprised). So, Delaware is sunk no matter what...but hopefully, the entire nation won't have to deal with the Joe Biden plague for the next 4 years. He absolutely pales in comparison to Sarah Palin.

May God bless this nation with a president and vice president who hold to His principles (and that would be McCain/Palin and NOT Obama/Biden).

What I Believe....by Carol

My friend Carol sent me a wonderful document on what she believes and although I would love to take the credit for it, I will give her the credit but will also say that I agree with her 100%.
___________________________________________________________________

When people ask me why I say I could never vote for Barack Obama I tell them it’s because he is the antithesis of what I believe. If you wonder what that is, here is a start….

1. I believe that I made my money without the government’s help and I can spend it without its help. I don’t need Obama to spread my “wealth” around!
2. I believe in capitalism and free enterprise. The government has never run a successful program.
3. I believe there is nothing in the Constitution of the United States that provides a right to stop the beating heart of an unborn child.
4. I believe the environment is precious and should be protected by all practical means but not at the expense of protecting the citizens of the US.
5. I believe the UN is corrupt, ineffective and dangerous to US sovereignty and we should get out of it. Obama would have us paying a global tax to it.
6. I believe in personal responsibility and the guarantee of equal opportunity – not equal results. I believe it is not the job of the government to provide housing, healthcare and college educations or to restore people’s housing when an act of God destroys it.
7. I believe federal judges are supposed to be interpreting the law, not legislating from the bench. This country has been wounded severely by liberal judges and Obama will only give us more.
8. I believe we the people should have the power, not the government.
9. I believe in the 2nd amendment and that the government has no business in disarming its law-abiding citizens.

Who has Barack Obama refused to meet with?

Sorry....I just couldn't resist posting this. It's a real eye opener - and very true!

Is Obama a Fraud?

In order to be elected as President of the United States, the candidate must be a Natural Born United States Citizen. Was Obama born in the US? Did he lie about it? There is a suit against him and the Democratic National Committee now claiming he is not a natural born citizen and therefore not a valid candidate. See the video for yourself and see what you think.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyspCRmJv7w

Share the wealth?

Obama freely admits he is going to raise taxes on those who make more the $250,000 a year and "give" their money to those less fortunate. Personally, I don't fit into the "wealthy" category, but that isn't the point. Since when does the government get to decide who gets my money? Why does Obama get to decide to "share the wealth" with those of his choosing? What's to say he won't change his mind about who is wealthy? What if he (or his liberal Democrat cronies) decide that people who make $150,000 a year are wealthy.....or $100,000? What is going to stop them? Who will they give the money to? I don't know about the rest of you, but I work very, very hard for what I earn (and am happy to do so). This nation is turning into a "give me" nation. They want the government to take care of their health care (although, why they would trust the government who has messed up social security, the school system and everything else they get their hands on, I don't understand). They want the government to pay for their child care - again, why?? We are NOT a Socialist Government.....well.......at least not yet. Never has their been an election as important as this one. Wake up people - pay attention. A vote for Obama is a vote for a huge step toward a Socialist government. Don't let it happen - get out and vote for McCain/Palin on November 4.

Reasons I won't vote for Barack Obama

Here are just a few of the reasons why I would never vote for Barack Obama:

1. He voted for partial birth abortion.
2. He voted no on notifying parents of minors who get out-of-state abortions.
3. His religious convictions are very murky. His 20 year affiliation with the church where radical Reverend Jeremiah Wright was the pastor is especially telling.
4. The company he keeps is very questionable. Prime example is his association with known terrorist, William Ayers. Here’s a guy that was a member of the radical group Weather Underground who launched a campaign of bombings against our Pentagon and US Capitol. How scary is that!
5. Supports affirmative action in Colleges and Government (quotas).
6. In 2001 he questioned harsh penalties for drug dealing as being too severe.
7. Says he will deal with street level drug dealing as minimum wage affair.
8. Admitted his use of marijuana and cocaine in high school and in college.
9. He is willing to meet with Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Kim Jung Il and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with no conditions
10. Has said that one of his first goals after being elected would be to have a conference with all Muslim nations. Why?
11. Opposed the Patriot Act.
12. First bill he signed that was ever passed was campaign finance reform.
13. Voted to allow law suits against gun manufacturers.
14. Supports universal health-care.
15. Voted yes on providing habeas corpus for Guantanamo detainees.
16. Supports granting driver's licenses to illegal immigrants.
17. Supports extending welfare to illegal immigrants.
18. Voted yes on comprehensive immigration reform..
19. Wants to disarm our country (see prior post)
20. Voted yes on allowing illegal aliens to participate in Social Security.
21. Wants to make the minimum wage a 'living wage'.
22. Voted with Democratic Party 96 percent of 251 votes. (241 votes Demo, 10 votes Republican)
23. Is a big believer in the separation of church and state. Translation - no Godly principles.
24. Opposed to any efforts to Privatize Social Security and instead supports increasing the amount of tax paid into Soc. Sec. Tax Increase.
25. He voted No on repealing the Alternative Minimum Tax which now hits middle income brackets. Tax Increase.
26. He voted No on repealing the 'Death' Tax. Tax Increase.
27. He wants to raise the Capital Gains Tax. Tax Increase.
28. Has repeatedly said the surge in Iraq has not succeeded...which is not true. Finally, he has admitted that it was a success (grudgingly)
29. He is ranked as the most liberal Senator in the Senate today and that takes some doing.

Why in the world would I want him to be the leader of this nation! God have mercy on us.

Why doesn't Obama want America to be able to defend itself?

There are certainly many, many topics on which I disagree with Barrack Obama. But, there is one thing that is extremely frightening to me, especially post 9/11. Barrack Obama basically wants to disarm our nation....question is not only why...but also, for whom?? If you don't believe that he wants the United States of America to be defenseless, listen to the video in the link below - in his own words, out of his own mouth. Very frightening! It's only 51 seconds - take a listen!

Who won the debate?

There is no question in my mind that John McCain won the debate hands down. I found it very interesting that Obama actually agreed with John McCain multiple times (I believe 9 times); of course, McCain did not return the favor. I agree with John McCain that we do not need a president who would be doing "on the job" training. Obama is so clearly unfit to lead - it boggles the mind that there actually are large number of people voting for him. His arrogance and blatant misrepresentations made me want to throw a shoe at the TV - every time I see it on the news, I find myself yelling at the TV. John McCain clearly has character, experience, and a clear command of the issues. I'm sure the "drive-by" (mainstream) media - better known as NBC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN, ABC, etc. - will paint a different picture, but the choice is clear in my eyes. McCain won in all respects.

Friday, September 26, 2008

Will the debate go on?

Well....we'll know in a few hours at most if the Presidential debate will go on as scheduled this evening. John McCain is certainly putting "Country first" by saying he will not show up if there is not a resolution in the financial crisis. What does Obama say? SHOCKER! He says he'll show up anyway. Well....it could be funny....Obama flip flops so much, perhaps he could debate himself. I can get a visual of him sitting on one side of a debate table expressing one opinion and then flipping over to the other side of the table for the opposite opinion - that seems to be his M.O. I guess Obama thinks it will look bad to vote "present" as he has on so many other issues - he might actually have to take a stand (and stick with it). I can't imagine even he is so shallow that he would get on a plane to Mississippi with the country in financial crisis. Wait a minute....what am I thinking....of course he would be that shallow! Time will tell......

Voting my conscience

As you can tell from the name of my blog, I am a conservative. There are fundamental values and principles that I believe in. I can’t separate (nor do I want to) what I believe in God’s word versus what I believe in the government. In my mind, it should be one and the same. For example, if the pastor of my church stood up and said “it is perfectly fine to kill unborn babies”, I would think he had lost his mind. If he said “if a child is born and the parents don’t want it, just don’t provide medical assistance if the child needs it.....sooner or later it will die”, I would seriously doubt not only his ability to pastor the church, but I would doubt his humanity. But…my pastor wouldn’t say that – on the contrary.

I heard an interview of a young lady who lived through a botched abortion – I can’t in my wildest dreams conceive how anyone can believe that it is right to murder an unborn child. I also heard the interview of a nurse (Jill Stanek) who saw a down syndrome baby, a result of an abortion and born alive, put away in a soiled utility room to die. She couldn’t stand the thought of this baby dying alone, so she held it and cradled it for the 45 minutes that it lived. The nurse explained the process of the abortion – evidently, there is an abortion called "induced labor abortion", and for this procedure, the physician inserts a medication into the mom's birth canal that dilates the cervix, and the intent is for the baby to be delivered prematurely. They're fully formed, but very small. Between 10-20% of these babies survive.

There was a Born Alive Infant Protection Act that Obama voted against when he was a State Senator in Illinois. This would have provided legal rights to babies that survived botched late-term abortions and allow them medical attention. Obama opposed this bill that would have allowed these precious babies to be given medical attention (dear friends, this is called "infanticide"). I guess everyone has “rights” except the unborn and the children who are born prematurely when their parents don’t want them. What’s next? If the elderly become “inconvenient”, will they be killed as well?

I can’t in good conscience vote for someone who would condone and support such an outrageous, ungodly concept. People ridicule John McCain and Sarah Palin for their pro-life views. They are treated as if they are out of their minds. What’s wrong with this picture? I have no desire whatsoever to vote for someone who goes completely and totally against what I believe and most importantly, against God’s Word. My vote goes to McCain/Palin.

I guess I'm "White Trash"

Last week, Canadian journalist (if you can call her that), Heather Mallick, described Sarah Palin’s supporters as “white trash,” compared the vice presidential candidate to a “porn actress” and called her daughter’s boyfriend a “redneck” and “ratboy." She also described Palin's home state of Alaska as “frontier state full of drunks and crazy people.” I guess I should be upset, but all the liberal wackos like her that make outrageous comments like this just fire up the conservative base even more. I would say "no problem.....I'll cancel her vote out", but then she's Canadian and won't be voting in our election. If it's "white trash" voting for the McCain/Palin ticket, then call me white trash. But in reality, I'm a proud American who is thrilled about the prospect of a McCain/Palin ticket in the White House. Heather Mallick could only wish that she had a fraction of the dignity, grace and intelligence of Sarah Palin.

What possessed me to create a blog?

I have always been very opinionated, especially as it pertains to politics, but never have I been so fired up as I am right now as time draws closer to the 2008 Presidential election. I must confess that initially, the very last candidate that I wanted to see on the Republican ticket was John McCain. I thought he leaned much too far to the left and was much too liberal to suit me. I was a Romney supporter (and still have total admiration and respect for Governor Romney). So....when it became evident that John McCain was going to be the nominee, my husband and I both said that although we weren't thrilled, we would "hold our noses" and vote rather than the scary alternative of Obama.

The day Senator McCain was announcing his running mate, I was on pins and needles, and so hopeful he would pick Romney and outraged at the prospect of him picking Lieberman or Ridge. Then....along comes Sarah Palin. I was very hesitant at first and wanted to learn more about her, but the more I learned, the more I loved her. She has the same values and beliefs that I do! How exciting! Senator McCain, in my opinion, made one of the most brilliant political moves of all times when he chose Governor Palin. It was especially effective given the fact that days beforehand, Obama basically turned his back on Hillary Clinton - what a slap in the face for her (and believe me, I am no fan of Hillary - just the opposite).

Sarah Palin has energized the party and has certainly energized me! I have become more and more interested in the issues and more and more convinced that the best thing for this country would be if McCain/Palin win the election in November.

So, why did I decide to create a blog? Because I wanted to express my opinions in writing on a regular basis because as I said at the beginning.....I'm very opinionated when it comes to politics!
