As you can tell from the name of my blog, I am a conservative. There are fundamental values and principles that I believe in. I can’t separate (nor do I want to) what I believe in God’s word versus what I believe in the government. In my mind, it should be one and the same. For example, if the pastor of my church stood up and said “it is perfectly fine to kill unborn babies”, I would think he had lost his mind. If he said “if a child is born and the parents don’t want it, just don’t provide medical assistance if the child needs it.....sooner or later it will die”, I would seriously doubt not only his ability to pastor the church, but I would doubt his humanity. But…my pastor wouldn’t say that – on the contrary.
I heard an interview of a young lady who lived through a botched abortion – I can’t in my wildest dreams conceive how anyone can believe that it is right to murder an unborn child. I also heard the interview of a nurse (Jill Stanek) who saw a down syndrome baby, a result of an abortion and born alive, put away in a soiled utility room to die. She couldn’t stand the thought of this baby dying alone, so she held it and cradled it for the 45 minutes that it lived. The nurse explained the process of the abortion – evidently, there is an abortion called "induced labor abortion", and for this procedure, the physician inserts a medication into the mom's birth canal that dilates the cervix, and the intent is for the baby to be delivered prematurely. They're fully formed, but very small. Between 10-20% of these babies survive.
There was a Born Alive Infant Protection Act that Obama voted against when he was a State Senator in Illinois. This would have provided legal rights to babies that survived botched late-term abortions and allow them medical attention. Obama opposed this bill that would have allowed these precious babies to be given medical attention (dear friends, this is called "infanticide"). I guess everyone has “rights” except the unborn and the children who are born prematurely when their parents don’t want them. What’s next? If the elderly become “inconvenient”, will they be killed as well?
I can’t in good conscience vote for someone who would condone and support such an outrageous, ungodly concept. People ridicule John McCain and Sarah Palin for their pro-life views. They are treated as if they are out of their minds. What’s wrong with this picture? I have no desire whatsoever to vote for someone who goes completely and totally against what I believe and most importantly, against God’s Word. My vote goes to McCain/Palin.
